Abstract

Vehicle fittings and attachments.-To facilitate the loading or unloading of motor lor. ries, wagons, &c., longitudinal beams B are secured to frames A mounted on the chassis. The beams carry trollies C provided with load-engaging members with or without hoisting-gear. Instead of the beams B projecting over the rear of the chassis for raising the load from the ground or depositing it thereon, the beams may have no overhang but may be slidably mounted on the frames so that they can be projected rearwards when required. Or auxiliary beams D, Fig. 10, may be slidably supported from the main beams by roller-fitted brackets b<2>, the lower flanges of the auxiliary beams being slidable rearwards over the end of the chassis. The auxiliary beams may be transversely supported from the main beams when a lateral overhang is required.
