Abstract

1499446 Burner control systems SONY CORP 11 Nov 1975 [14 Nov 1974] 46544/75 Heading F4T [Also in Divisions C7 and H1] Flame detection apparatus comprises detecting and auxiliary electrodes 41, 44 spaced apart and disposed so as in use to extend into a flame 42, means 47, 45 for biasing the respective electrodes with positive and negative D.C. potentials, and means for deriving a signal from the detecting electrode 41 to indicate the presence or absence of a flame. The detecting electrode 41 is disposed above the auxiliary electrode 44, and the signal is amplified and fed to means 49 controlling a fuel supply valve 50. The material of the detecting electrode may contain a group IIa metal, and examples of suitable compositions are given (see Division C7).
