Abstract

149,855. Vaccarezza, C. Sept. 23, 1919. Lift valves; sliding va.lves; wedging or jamming. -Relates to screw-actuated straight-way doublelaced valves which are forced to and released from their seatings at the moment of closing and opening by means of toggle links connected to the valves and to fixed and sliding collars on the spindle. In such a valve, the stem I is made hollow and is internally screwed to engage a screwed spindle G<1> rotatably mounted in a bridge D. The inner sliding collar P is recessed at the bottom to engage a central boss Q on the casing abutment. The valve disks may be flat, as shown, or conical or other shape, and there mav be three, four, or more such disks arranged for controlling a number of passage-ways.
