Abstract

1497551 Zoom lenses CANON KK 17 June 1975 [17 June 1974] 25723/75 Heading G2J A macro zoom lens is adjustable to macro at wide-angle or telephoto settings and comprises a focusing lens I, a variator lens II, a compensator lens III and a relay lens IV. Lenses II and III are simultaneously movable to effect zooming and macro, the following relationships being satisfied:- e 1 min # e 1 macro, e 2 min # e 1 macro and e 3 min # e 1 macro where e 1 is the distance between I and II, e 2 is the distance between II and III and e 3 is the distance between III and IV and e min is the minimum distance during normal zooming and e macro is the distance when the lens is set to macro. Fig. 2 shows three ways of achieving macro for a first embodiment of lens construction in which I is positive, II negative, III positive and IV positive. In a second embodiment Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), I is positive, II negative, III negative and IV positive, there being four ways of achieving macro. Numerical data are given for two Examples.
