1497147 Mechanical garages AGROPOL AG 5 April 1975 14056/75 Heading A4T Vehicle parking apparatus comprises stationery annular inner and outer parts 1, 2 provided with parking bays, a circular rotatable annular turn-table 3 being disposed between the parts 1, 2 so that a car which is delivered on to the turn-table 3 can be then delivered by a transportation arrangement to a parking bay on either of the parts 1, 2. A car to be parked is driven to a surrender station 17 of the apparatus and is fed to a transfer station 18 on the ring 2 by use of means shown at the right side of Fig. 6 and consisting of rollers 36, 37 which trap the car wheels, and a motor which drives a spindle nut 42 on a spiral thread extension of the rod of an hydraulic ram 34 to cause movement (to the left in Fig. 6) of the rollers 36, 37 such that the car is moved to the transfer station 18, Fig. 1. In order to move the car to a delivery station 19 on the turn-table 3 from the station 18 a transportation arrangement is used, the latter comprising a carriage 49 movable along a rail 50 and having arms 51 movable relative to, and laterally of, the carriage 49, and roller arrangements 52, 53, 53a on the arms 51 entrap two wheels of the car to cause movement thereof along with the carriage 49 which is driven by a pull-and-push chain 54 which runs over motor driven driving and stacking wheels 55, 56, this transportation arrangement being used to move cars to parking bays on either of the parts 1, 2. A vehicle may be locked in its parking bay by a locking arrangement comprising a fork 61 displace. ably mounted on an arm 62, the fork 61 being engageable with a wheel of the vehicle. The transfer station may be in the form of a lift which can transfer a vehicle to a turn-table 3 disposed at one of several levels of a multi-storey vehicle parking apparatus.
