Abstract
1496919 Force transducer KISTLER INSTRUMENTE A G 20 Aug 1975 [17 Sept 1974 34542/75 Heading G1N The invention relates to adjusting the sensitivity of a force transducer. The force transducer is of the type comprising a pair of elements 1, 2 through which a force, in use, is applied to an electromechanical transducer element 3 located therebetween and a parallel force element 4 extending between the pair of elements 1, 2 and the sensitivity is adjusted by meshing the parallel force element after the transducer has been assembled so as to change the flexibility thereof. As shown the parallel force element 4 is counterbored. The parallel force element may surround the transducer element in which case the outer surface thereof is formed with a groove Figs. 2, 5 (not shown). The parallel force element may comprise a similar extension to one of the pair of elements in which case an annular groove is formed therein, Fig. 3 (not shown). A combination of the abovementioned grooves may be provided Fig. 4 (not shown) and in this case the transducer may also be responsive to pressure when housed in a cavity. The transducer may be provided with a pre-loading element (Fig. 3).
