Abstract

1495386 Domestic vessels INSULEX Ltd 15 Nov 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 59450/73 Heading A4A [Also in Divisions B8 and F4] A vessel comprises two plastics nested containers 1 and 6 in spaced relationship and adhered together at their rims 4 and 5, and a sheet material element, e.g. printed label, bearing a pattern or design adhered to the inner face of the outer container, the outer container being transparent so that the pattern and design is externally visible. The vessel may be a drinking cup, butter-dish, or, as shown, an ice-bucket, which is provided with lifting lugs 11 and 12 and a lid 13. The element 10 comprises a polyvinyl chloride film having a pattern or design printed thereon and bearing an adhesive which is initially covered by a strippable sheet prior to attachment of the element to the outer container. The inner face of the outer container can be spraypainted after attachment of the element. The space between the containers is then filled in situ foamed polyurethane to provide an insulated vessel. Both containers may be formed of a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene tripolymer, polystyrene, polycarbonate or polypropylene polymer. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1021252 and 1281534.
