1495129 Curing catalysts AKZO NV 21 May 1976 [30 May 1975] 21140/76 Heading C3R A curable composition, stable at room temperature, comprises an acid-hardenable resin (R), a protic liquid (L), and a curing catalyst (I) where R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are H or Me, X is halogen, Y is halogen, alkyl, C# 4 alkoxy, or optionally esterified carboxyl or sulphoxyl, n is 1 or 2, and m is 0-3. Also present may be a non-erotic solvent or conventional additives. (L) may be an alcohol. The composition may be used as paint, varnish, glue, or printing-ink. It may be cured by heat or IR radiation. In examples, (R) comprises alkyd and melamine resins.
