Abstract

Universal joints.-A universal joint for motorvehicle transmissions &c. comprises a spherical member on a shaft b with a number of recesses containing balls f, which engage similar recesses in parts c sliding axially in grooves d in a sleeve c secured to a second shaft. The inner surfaces of the slides are either flat, or curved to fit against the spherical member.
