Abstract

1495040 Single point mooring system TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 25 Oct 1975 43961/75 Heading B7S In a single point mooring system a connecting hawser 26 is attached at one end to the mooring 10 and at its other end to a flexible or articulated messenger line 24 supported by a balloon 41 vertically above the water surface. Catch mechanism 21 on vessel 18 to be moored is able to engage and retain the messenger line as the vessel moves into contact with it. In the embodiment shown the catch mechanism has two arms 22, 23 which when not in use are retracted backwards against the sides of the vessel.
