Abstract

1494651 Child's car seat BUCKEYE INTERNATIONAL Inc 15 July 1975 29675/75 Heading A4J [Also in Division A3] A childs car seat comprises a moulded shell 22 provided with an L-shaped centre wall, the longer portion 26 of the wall being used as the base of the seat when supporting children up to about 6 months and being used as the back of the seat when supporting children over about 6 months. When portion 26 is used as a base, a rigid insert 24 having back, seat and leg supporting portions 36, 38, 40 is releasably connected to the shell. When the longer portion is used as a back, a shield 114 is releasably supported between the side walls of the shell and the shorter portion 28 of the shell is supported on a base 154. When the child reaches about 2¢ years, the base is removed and the shield is replaced by a harness (182) Fig. 17 (not shown).
