Abstract

1493232 IC engine exhaust manifolds FIAT SpA 19 Jan 1976 [29 Jan 1975] 01978/76 Heading F4B The interior of an exhaust manifold for I.C. engines is divided into reaction chambers 7, 10 by a longitudinally extending separating wall 11 having spaced holes 12, 13 adjacent opposite ends so that the exhaust gases pass sequentially from inlet pipes 5, 6, 8, 9 terminating in the chamber 7 to a single outlet pipe 14 communicating with the chamber 10 in order to ensure complete reduction of unburnt residues. The outer surfaces of the manifold are enclosed in a thermally insulating jacket pressed against the manifold by a covering.
