Abstract

1493137 Diapers COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 26 Nov 1974 [3 Dec 1973] 51158/74 Heading A5R A diaper 10 comprises an absorbent body 12 sandwiched between an outer waterimpervious plastics backing sheet 14 forming the diaper outer surface and a water-permeable inner liner 16 which contacts the wearer, a fold 18 being provided along the central longitudinal axis with further longitudinal extending folds 20, 22 on each side of this axis midway between the axis and the respective lateral margins 24, 26 the portion of the outer surface of the backing sheet 14 adjacent the fold 20 being connected to a similar portion adjacent the fold 22 in the crotch region. The outer surfaces of the backing sheet are connected by an adhesive bearing tape 28, the folds 20, 22 being substantially in contact with one another in the crotch region causing the diaper to taper in this region. Adjacent central surfaces of the liner 16 are coated with adhesive 30.
