Abstract

1492407 Electrical connection INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 8 April 1975 [8 April 1974] 14323/76 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] A battery holder accomodating two rows of cells 15-20 has a U-shaped leaf-spring 5, 6 at each end serving to connect the two rows of cells together at one end and to lead-out terminals 9 (Fig. 1, not shown) and 13 at the other. The leaf-springs are secured to the end walls of the compartment, e.g. by a rivet and a post 14 so that the outer, free end of each spring bears on the end of one of the rows to press the cells together and into contact with the bowed inner part of the other spring. One lead-out terminal (9) is connected to the spring 6. The other, 13, is connected by a wire 12 to a rivet 11 mounted on the free end of the spring in an insulating bush and pressed against the terminal of cell 15. The battery holder may be a recess in a piece of portable electrical equipment, or it may be a separate plug-in unit.
