1490613 Seaming INSTYTUT WLOKIENNICTWA 14 Feb 1975 6266/75 Heading B5K [Also in Divisions D1-D2] A fleece 3 containing thermoplastics material is bonded in discrete areas by electric arcs passing between the tips 6 of electrodes 5, each disposed in an annular slot (4, Fig. 2, not shown) of upper roll 1, and lower roll 2. Roll 2 may have a uniform surface or it may have conducting rings or bars set parallel to the axis of the roll or in a helical or annular pattern and separated by insulators. The arcs produce bonding throughout the thickness of the fleece.
