Abstract
1490282 Die-casting machines IDRA-PRESSEN GmbH 22 Jan 1975 [12 Feb 1974] 2711/75 Heading B3F A die-casting machine comprises a shot piston connected to a press piston 2, by piston-rod 3, and a multiplier piston 5, fluid being supplied via lines L, 26, 51 to advance press piston 2 and multiplier piston 5 and pre-stress chamber 7, respectively, the apparatus including a timing device which influences one or more flow regulators in the fluid supply lines should the duration of a phase differ from a predetermined time so that in a subsequent die-casting operation the duration more closely approaches the predetermined time. The flow regulators in lines 26, 51 take the form of hydraulic blocks 24, 27 each having a number of diaphragms, e.g. 13-17, and associated valves, 18-22, the diaphragms being dimensioned such that each allows double the flow rate of the preceding diaphragm, hence 32 different pressures are available for the fluid in line 26 (and therefore 16 in line 51). The valves 18-22, 32-25 are controlled by selector switches acting upon signals from a comparator fed with signals corresponding to the permitted duration of a phase and the actual duration.
