Abstract
1489857 Centrifuge BRAUNSCHWEIGISCHE MASCHINENBAUANSTALT 17 June 1976 [19 June 1975] 25096/76 Heading B1D A centrifuge comprises a rotatable centrifuge basket 1 having a vertical axis of rotation, the basket tapering outwardly in an upwards direction, and a filtering screen 2 supported in the basket via roughened surface areas 11 thereby preventing in use movement of the screen relative to the basket. A mesh support (Fig. 6) may be provided for the screen having points of contact 9 roughened. The roughened surface areas may be on the outer side of the screen, the inner side of the basket, or both, or both sides of the mesh support 3. The rough areas may be provided by metal finishing e.g. electroplating, sand blasting or grinding or by the provision of friction linings of metal or plastics material as cladding on the basket 1 or the outside of the screen 2 on the support. The areas on the inner surface of the basket may be on curved or straight upwardly extending bars, the spaces 12 between which being filled with a supporting mesh.
