Abstract

148,879. Noser, E. V. Feb. 14, 1919, [Convention date]. Levers, locking. - Relates to a gear-lever locking-device for motor-vehicles. The gearlever 6 is mounted in a universal joint 7 so that it can be moved in the required directions to operate the gearshifting arms 3. The lever is locked by pressing down its enclosing tube 9 until the lower end of the tube engages the upper ends of the gear-shifting arms and locks them in the neutral position. The tube and a cover 20 for the joint 7 are secured in the engaged position by a lock 14. In a modification the gear-lever is pushed downwards to lock the gears.
