Abstract

1488347 Fluidised bed apparatus EVINSON WHITE Ltd 22 Jan 1975 [2 Nov 1973] 51031/73 Heading B1F [Also in Division F4] A fluidised bed apparatus has a base plate 19 in which there are a number of holes 22 with valves 23 comprising stems 24 and caps 26 and which are free to move a limited amount upwardly when subjected to the pressure of a fluidising gas from below. Each valve 23 has a passage for conducting gases through its stem 24 and out through openings 27 below its cap 26. Upward movement of the valves is limited by pins 25. The apparatus may be used for heating particulate solids in which fluidising gas is continually recirculated by a fan (8), Fig. 1 (not shown).
