Abstract

1488188 Water-jet propulsion unit HYDROTECH CORP 28 Feb 1975 [4 March 1974] 8609/75 Heading B7V A jet propulsion unit comprises two inlets 22, 24 leading to a double-suction impeller 96 on a rotary pump shaft 46 in a pump housing formed by a main casting 14 and a cylindrical insert 16, and two volute outlets 34, 36. The unit can be mounted inboard, each of which extends in substantially 360 degrees in the general plane of the impeller, leading to elbows 38, 40 substantially level with the pump shaft, each with a steering deflector vane 152 and a reversing gate 176. The unit is adapted to be mounted on a transom by bolts 86, and coupled with a prime mover by means of splines 84. The vanes 152 are moved in unison by rods 166. The gates 176 can be operated independently.
