Abstract

1487751 Cleaning feed rollers for advancing sliver JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd 24 Feb 1975 [28 Feb 1974] 9115/74 Headings DID and D1N A feed table 1, for a textile drawing frame, has feed rollers 9 for advancing sliver 2 over the table, each feed roller 9 including a presser roller 10 that can be swung to an inoperative position, each pressing roller having a dust extractor 18 fitted in its vicinity and associated with it in such a way as to be moved away from the driven feed roller 9 when the pressing roller 10 is moved to its inoperative position. Each dust extractor 18 may be in the form of a tube 18 which is closed at one end 19 and has a slot 20 or a series of openings along the side directly adjacent the pressing roller 10. Stop motion A mounting 15 for a supporting arm 11 of each pressing roller 10 is insulated from the table 1 by an insulating pad 16 and has an electrical connection 17 leading from the mounting 15 and forming part of a control circuit. The return circuit is through the frame of the machine so that when a pressing roller 10 engages the corresponding feed roller 9 (which is in electrical connection with the frame of the machine) the circuit is completed to operate a stop mechanism.
