1487554 Strain relief J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 15 Oct 1974 [20 Oct 1973] 48989/73 Heading H2E A strain relief member for an electric plug comprises a supporting portion 2 and webs 14 defining an aperture 18. In use the member is secured in a groove in a plug by the supporting region and a lead is pushed through the aperture thus deflecting the webs away from their rest position to resiliently grip the lead and prevent withdrawal. The supporting portion is "hinged" at 6 to allow insertion of a lead through access 12 prior to receiving in a plug, and the member may be of rectangular form (Fig. 5, not shown).
