Abstract

1486125 Cavity trays TIMPAK Ltd 15 March 1976 [22 April 1975] 16642/75 Headings E1B and E1W A pre-formed damp-proof course of thermoplastics comprises two side portions 1 and 2 with a transversely sloping portion 3 therebetween, each side portion comprising a number of horizontal sections 4-7 and 11-14 arranged end to end with a vertical section 8-10 and 15-17 between adjacent horizontal sections, the lengths and heights of the sections and the distance therebetween being such that the strip is arranged to fit the joints of a stretcher bonded brick or block wall with one side portion in the inner skin of the wall and the other portion between lower courses of the outer skin and with the sloping portion bridging the cavity. In a modification for blockwork walls each side portion has two horizontal and one vertical portion. The strips are used where a cavity wall abuts a sloping roof and are overlapped by the wall by an amount appropriate for the roof pitch. Lead sheeting is used to span between the outer course of bricks and the roofing tiles.
