Abstract

1485050 Seat slides BIRNAM PRODUCTS Ltd 1 Dec 1975 [10 Dec 1974] 53485/75 Heading A4J [Also in Division F2] The free end portions 18 of the side walls of the outer member 11 of a seat slide are inturned through an angle which exceeds 90 degrees and are located in longitudinally extending depressions 24 in the base of the inner member 20. The base of the outer member may be provided with external and internal depressions 14a and 14b. When a compressive load is applied to the slide. The ends of the side walls 22 of the inner member engage with the walls extending between the depressions 14a and 14b to prevent collapse of the slide. A spring loaded detent may be secured to the outer member 11 so as to be movable between a locking position in which it engages a row of teeth on the inner member and a release position in which it is disengaged from the teeth.
