Abstract

1481720 Cathode-ray tubes RCA CORPORATION 11 Dec 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 53543/74 Heading H1D An electrode 16 is mounted on studs 26, 28, 30 around the edges of the faceplate of a cathoderay tube, e.g. a shadow mask electrode in a colour television tube, by springs 20, 22, 24, the spring 24 associated with the stud 30 located on the central vertical axis of the faceplate being of bow spring form, Fig. 3, with a central section 40 apertured at 42 to engage the stud, and with perpendicular portions 36, 38 which, by rotation, permit bowing of the central section upon temperature change to prevent horizontal displacement of the electrode. The spring is preferably of bimetal construction, the end portions 32 and 34, which may alternatively be inwardly directed, being welded to the mask frame.
