Abstract

1481445 Surgical swabs PAPERSTICKS Ltd 20 Oct 1975 [29 Nov 1974] 51814/74 Heading A5R [Also in Division B5] A plastics swab stick 7, Fig. 10, e.g. of polypropylene is provided with transverse indentations throughout at least one end to facilitate adhesion of a swab. The stick may be of solid, or tubular section and the indentations may comprise knurling, or circumferential grooves 25 which may extend all around the stick. The grooves 25 may be located along all the length of the stick, or only at one end, or only at each end, serving to key into swabs of absorbent material 24 upon the setting within the grooves 25 of a coldsetting emulsified adhesive. The stick is produced from a plastics extrusion (3) Fig. 1, (not shown) (see Division B4-B5).
