Abstract

1478299 Dry cement composition ASSOCIATED PORTLAND CEMENT MRFS Ltd 13 Sept 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 42993/73 Heading ClH [Also in Division C4] A dry cement composition for making a cement-based paint or grout comprises a major proportion by weight of a hydraulic cement capable of releasing lime on contact with water and a minor proportion by weight of a substance capable of forming a thixotropic gel with the lime in the presence of water, and optionally also containing a pigment or extender, an opacifying agent, a waterproofing agent and a setting accelerator. Preferred compositions comprise white Portland cement, titanium dioxide, whiting, calcium chloride flake, zinc oxide, stearine, wetting agent and aluminium sulphate (iron-free, 17-18% alumina). A geltype cement paint may be prepared by the further addition of sand.
