Abstract
1478028 Releasable fastenings CONDUXWERK HERBERT A MERGES KG 12 June 1974 [13 June 1973] 26056/74 Heading E2A [Also in Division F2] An electromechanical safety locking device for an openable housing wall or door (not shown) of an electrically operated machine (not shown), having rotating parts (not shown), permits the door to be opened only after the drive motor (not shown) of the machine has been switched off and the rotating parts have come to a standstill, and further, prevents the machine being started until the door is properly closed. The locking device comprises a bolt 1 on the door and a sleeve 2 on the machine body, into which sleeve 2 the bolt 1 penetrates on closing the machine door, such movement of the bolt 1 initially lifting a spring-loaded locking rod 3, connected to pivot a bell-crank lever 12, and then additionally lifting a spring-loaded switch pin 4 connected by a bell-crank lever 11 to an on/off switch 10 of the machine, which lever 11 is initially prevented from moving to close the switch 10 by the bell-crank lever 12 which via the raised locking rod 3 blocks movement of the lever 11. On further i.e. full penetration of the bolt 1 into sleeve 2, for complete door closure, the locking rod 3 is spring-urged downward into a locking recess 14 in the bolt 1 to securely retain the bolt 1, which movement of the rod 3 raises the bell-crank lever 12 to release the bellcrank lever 11 which via the spring-loaded switch pin 4 snaps over to close the switch 10 to complete i.e. close a control circuit of the machine drive motor which can then be started. After the motor is switched off, a time relay (not shown) receives a pulse, the switching time of the relay being manually preselectable and set to a time greater than the time required for the rotating parts of the machine to stop, the arrangement being such that at the end of the relay switching time the contact of the time relay is closed to release a switch (not shown) to energise a solenoid 5 which via a pivoted lever 13 lifts the locking rod 3 free of the bolt 1 for the machine door to be opened.
