Abstract
1477029 (Meth)acrylic acid STANDARD OIL CO 25 Oct 1974 [25 Oct 1973] 46217/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] (Meth)acrylic acid is produced by the vapour phase oxidation of (meth)acrolein in the presence of steam at 200-500 C. using a catalyst which consists of oxides or oxide complexes of Ce, W, V, Mo and optionally at least one of Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Mg, Zn, Ti, Zr, Sn, P, Bi, Mn, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, La or a lanthanide of atomic number 59-71, and optionally a support. Examples describe the preparation of acrylic acid.
