1475559 Cement compositions NITTO CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO Ltd 12 Dec 1974 [13 Feb 1974] 53864/74 Heading ClH A cement composition contains cement and from 0À0003 to 0À02%, by weight of the cement, of an air-entraining water-reducing agent consisting of a higher secondary alcohol oxyalkylene sulphate of formula wherein R and R<SP>1</SP> are alkyl groups with the sum of the total number of carbon atoms of R and R<SP>1</SP> being from 10 to 20, n and m are each an integer of from 0 to 15. with n+m being from 1 to 15, and M is an alkali metal atom, an ammonium group or an amine group. The amine group may be mono-, di- or trimethylamine, mono-, di- or triethanolamine, butylamine or propanolamine. The composition may additionally include 0À5-7 parts by weight, per part by weight of the alcohol oxyalkylene sulphate, of an alkali metal salt of resin acid, a sulphonated ester salt of a higher primary alcohol or an alkylene oxide addition product thereof, an alkylbenzene sulphonate, a salt of a petroleum sulphonic acid, a fatty acid or proteinaceous substance, an organic salt of a sulphonated hydrocarbon, a polyalkyl aryl sulphonate, a sulphonate of a melamineformaldehyde condensate, a polycondensate of aminotriazine sulphonic acid, a polyamiopolycarboxylic acid compound, a ligninsulphonate, an oxycarboxylate, a polyoxyethylene alkylaryl ether, a derivative of carbohydrates and polyols or glyoxal. The cement may be Portland, blast furnace, alumina, silica, slag or regulated set cement, or a mixture thereof. The examples are directed to Portland cement compositions and concrete containing the higher secondary alcohol oxyalkylene sulphate and in some examples sodium resinate also.
