Abstract

1474783 Roadside noise barrier walls HOESCH WERKE AG 20 June 1974 [16 July 1973] 27479/74 Headings E1B and E1G A sound-insulating wall for roads comprises a wall element 11, formed from sheet steel and supporting posts 10, the element 11 comprising a planar non apertured backing member with side walls 111 extending therefrom, an apertured closure section 16 mounted on flanges 114 of the side walls, and sound insulating material 15 disposed between the backing member and the closure section and retained by ribbing 113 on the side walls so as to be spaced from the backing member. The apertures 161 are rectangular and arranged in straight lines with successive lines offset from each other. The elements are supported by steel brackets at the base of the posts 11 and seals 12 are provided between adjacent stacked elements. The supporting posts 11 may be closed at their upper ends by caps which retain the elements.
