Abstract

1474255 Developing apparatus XEROX CORP 25 July 1974 [26 July 1973] 32936/74 Heading G2H In an apparatus in which a migration imaging member 4 is guided along a curved longitudinal path adjacent and parallel to the development surface 18 of a liquid developer support member 13, developer liquid is supplied to said surface 18 through at least one aperture 14 located sufficiently close to the entrance edge 12 of the surface 18 to prevent solvent-vapour development of an imaging member 4, and said surface 18 contains a biasing electrode 19 to aid removal of residual material from a developed imaging member 4, said electrode 19 being located along said path after said aperture 14 and before the exit edge 11 of the surface 18. The apparatus is capable of developing migration imaging members at speeds of at least 4 inches per second and is thus suitable for use in camera/processor/projector apparatus at continuous motion picture speeds of about 7 inches per second, e.g. 16mm film moving at 24 frames per second, producing images free of background material.
