Abstract
1473746 Light buoy PINTSCH BAMAG ANTRIEBS - UND VERKEHRSTECHNIK GmbH 9 April 1975 [18 April 1974] 14559/75 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] A light buoy has an electric lamp powered from a generator 21, e.g. via a battery, which is operated by a fluid-flow engine 20 aligned with and driven by the flow of water. As shown, the fluid-flow engine is preferably a propeller 20 although a turbine may be used. The propeller 20, generator 21 and gearing 22 form an integral unit mounted in a throughpassage in the buoyancy housing 10 which is anchored at 13. The buoy is aligned with the water flow by a fin 26. The electrical circuitry includes a bridge rectifier and voltage stabilizing and protecting components (Fig. 3, not shown). In another construction, the current generator, propeller unit and aligning fin depend from the buoyancy housing and may have a separate housing therearound. The depending unit pivots about a vertical axis beneath the buoyancy housing (Fig. 2, not shown).
