Abstract

1473658 Formwork units for rooms ACROW (ENGS) Ltd 9 Oct 1974 [23 Oct 1973] 49311/73 Heading E1S A formwork unit for casting the ceiling and two opposed walls of a room comprises two wall formwork panels 2, 4 interconnected at their upper ends by at least one rigid support member 10 carrying a flexible deck formwork panel 6, the support member 10 being slidably connected to the wall panels 2, 4 or, as shown, to their supports 16, and means, e.g. length-adjustable props 24, being provided to raise and lower the support member 10 and hence part of the deck panel 6 relative to the wall panels. The connection between the supports 10 and 16 preferably comprises a pin or block 12 on one member slidable in an inclined slot 14 in the other member, whereby lowering of the support 10 draws the upper parts of the wall panels towards each other to facilitate stripping. The lower parts of the wall panels are interconnected by a horizontal adjustable prop 18, and are connected to the props 24, and are provided with jacks and rollers. The support members 10 may be extensible, and are secured in the casting position by wedges bearing on brackets 28 (see Fig. 1, not shown).
