Abstract

1473617 N - (#,# - dichlorovinyl)salicylamide and metal salts thereof NIPPON KAYAKU KK 3 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 28057/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] N - (#,# - dichlorovinyl)salicylamide is prepared by heating chloral with salicylamide, followed by treatment with a mixture of zinc and acetic acid. A metal salt of N-(#,#-dichlorovinyl)salicylamide is prepared by reaction of N- (#,# - dichlorovinyl)salicylamide with a hydroxymetal compound, e.g. NaOH. The K, Zn, Cu and Mn salts may be similarly prepared.
