Abstract
1472688 Electric couplings WALTER KELLER AG 24 March 1975 [29 March 1974] 12259/75 Heading H2E A plug and socket arrangement for a multiconductor flat cable 14 comprises, a socket having a U-shaped housing 3, which is passed over a retainer 17 having a stripped portion 16 of the cable lopped over it, and having projections 19, 20 which extend between the bared conductors and snap into openings 6, 7 in the side walls 4, 5 of the housing, and a plug 2 having pins 11, 12 which are inserted through holes 9, 10 to contact the conductors, the latter being biased towards the plug pins by elastic strips 22, 23 in the retainer. The pins are arranged in two mutually staggered rows of unequal number (Fig. 11, not shown) with corresponding openings in the socket housing 3. The socket housing and the retainer can both be cut from profiled rods to accommodate the desired number of conductors. Both ends of the tape cable may extend out of the socket (Fig. 2, not shown). An additional row of projections 21 may be provided on the retainer 17. Pins 11, 12 may also be directly connected into a printed circuit.
