1471209 Gripper elements for shoes A DASSLER [TRADING AS ADIDAS SPORTSCHUHFABRIKEN ADI DASSLER KG] 4 April 1974 [1 Aug 1973 5 Jan 1974] 37070/75 Divided out of 1471208 Heading A3B A gripper element for a shoe, for example a stud, comprises a body portion having a support face 32 and a threaded extension 31 having a steep helical thread 33 with an enlargement 34 adjacent the support face. In use, the enlargement 34 snaps into a corresponding recess in a screw threaded aperture in the sole, to form a position lock between the element and the sole. Preferably the element is located in a recess in a mould with the extension 31 projecting from the mould and the sole is moulded around the extension. The support face of the stud may have a recess which engages a complementary projection in the sole, the projection affording extra shear strength to the sole in the region of the element. Facets 39 may be provided to facilitate screwing and unscrewing using a tool.
