Abstract

1470499 Fork lift trucks LINER CONCRETE MACHINERY CO Ltd 19 March 1974 [19 Dec 1972] 58666/72 Heading B8L A fork lift truck comprises a mast 1, and if the truck is standing on a slope as shown in Fig. 4 (not shown), the mast is automatically tilted relative to the truck into an upright orientation. The mast is mounted on a subchassis 3 which is connected to the front axle 5 of the truck by means of two hydraulic rams 8, 9, the upper chamber 13 of ram 8 being connected to the lower chamber 14 of ram 9 and vice versa through a spool valve 17, and when the truck is located on a slope the pressure in one of the lower chambers 14 is increased and this causes upward displacement of a signalling ram 23 which is mounted in the valve 17, whereby oil is supplied from a reservoir 15 by a pump 16 through the valve 17 to the rams 8, 9 to bring the mast 1 into an upright orientation, at which time the ram 23 returns to its neutral position in valve 17. In the embodiment of Fig. 5 (not shown), the valve (17) is actuated by a pendulum (27) which is suspended from the truck mast and which actuates a rod (29) which forms part of the valve (17).
