Abstract

1469239 Substituted lead zirconate titanate DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 6 Sept 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 41188/73 Heading C1J A polycrystalline lead zirconate titanate ceramic composition, having formula ABO 3 where A is lead and B is Zr and Ti and comprising lead zirconate and lead titanate in solid solution in the mol ratio range 40 : 60 to 90 : 10, comprises a pentavalent element and a monovalent element in the atom ratio 3:1, wherein the monovalent and pentavalent elements substitute for 0À1 to 4À0 atom per cent of B, the pentavalent element being Nb, Ta or Sb, with the monovalent element being Na, K or Ag, provided, that, when the pentavalent element is Ta or Sb, the monvalent element is not Ag. The ceramic may be used in transducers.
