Abstract

1468503 Titanium trichloride-phosphorus oxychloride reaction products ISR HOLDING Sarl 8 July 1974 [8 July 1973 13 Dec 1973] 7259/73 and 57767/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division C3] A reaction product, useful as a Ziegler olefin polymerization catalyst component, is obtained by reacting titanium trichloride with phosphorus oxytrichloride by heating in an aromatic hydrocarbon diluent, without ballmilling and in the absence of an organo-aluminium compound. In examples, AA TiCl 3 is mixed with POCl 3 in benzene, heated for several hours, and in one case, the resulting solid separated and washed.
