Abstract

1468424 Puppets; masks PERFECT LIBERTY 5 June 1974 25024/74 Heading A6S A puppet head or a mask comprises a hollow head body, on which is movably mounted at least one facial feature, a respective wire for connecting each facial feature to a respective finger of an operator so that the feature may be moved by movement of the operator's finger, and wherein the or each wire is covered by a sheath within which the wire js moveable, the or each sheathed wire being mounted around the inside surface of the hollow head. As shown, a puppet or mask head 1 journals a shaft 3 fast upon which are simulated eyeballs 2. A tab 4 on the shaft 3 has a hole through which passes the end of a control wire 5 having spaced detents 6, 6', one on each side of the tab. The control wire 5 passes through a sheath 14 and at its remote end carries a finger ring (13), Fig. 4B (not shown). The sheath 14 is attached to a glove for the hand of an operator by a pad. A simulated lip 8 is carried by a frame 7 journalled upon a rod 1 in the head 1 and similarly provided with a tab 11 having a hole for another control wire 5' passed through a sheath 14'. A simulated tongue 15 is provided on the rod 9. The head 1 may have a soft lining to improve its fit on the operators head.
