1467980 Adjustable wrenches SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 25 April 1974 [26 April 1973] 18250/74 Heading B3N An adjustable socket wrench comprises a circular head 1, a plurality of symmetrically mounted jaws 2 which consist of gripping portions 15 and adjusting portions 16, an adjusting socket 3 movably surrounding the head, a guiding device 6 fixed to the head on the axis thereof, to support the adjusting portions, the outer surface of each adjusting portion is concave and the adjusting socket engages the concave surfaces so that vertical movement of the adjusting socket causes the jaws to be swung around the guiding device. The jaws are mounted in grooves 19 in the body and the concave surfaces are engaged by bulge 20 and the lower edge 21 of the socket. The guiding device is vertically positionable by screw 5. The socket is screw threadedly attached to the head and is held against rotation by a ring 9 which is vertically movable but non- rotatably mounted on the head, and has a projection (11), Fig. 4 (not shown), that engages in one of a number of grooves (12), Fig. 1 (not shown).
