Abstract

1467705 Display apparatus HALLMARK CARDS Inc 24 Oct 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 46150/74 Heading A4T Article display apparatus for positioning adjacent a wall comprises a pair of standards 20, 22 for location adjacent the wall, a tie element 56 for mounting on the wall, means 54 for coupling the standards 20, 22 to the tie element 56, means 156 mounted on the standards 20, 22 for receiving articles to be displayed and a soffit and valance assembly 16 carried by the standards 20, 22 and including a support structure 72, valance means 80 and soffit-defining means. The soffit is defined by a light-diffusing grid 110 mounted below fluorescent tubes 102 supported between brackets 62 borne by the standards 20, 22, the valance means 80 consisting of an inserted decorative board. Shelves 156 support the articles for illuminated display, and storage compartments 148 are supported on base units 134. A series of display units may be attached to a common tie element 56, the end unit having a closure panel 14, and adjustable foot assemblies 38 and stops 42 allow for levelling of the units.
