Abstract

1467048 Fluid pressure switches DISTILLERS CO (CARBON DIOXIDE) Ltd 15 Aug 1975 [30 Oct 1974 7 May 1975] 47025/74 and 19230/75 Heading H1N [Also in Divisions G1 and F2] A pressure switch comprises right angled cross-section frame 29, collapsible bag 30 having an inlet for gas, a strip of springy material 31, electrical microswitch 32 and an adjustable screw 33. Strip 31 is fixed at its end 34. As gas flows into bag 30, strip 31 moves into contact with screw 33 and eventually its free end bearing on to plunger of microswitch 32 makes the plunger retract and so close the contacts in the switch. The contacts may be connected in an external alarm circuit. Alternatively a pressure switch as described with a very small differential pressure adjustment may be used in conjunction with a relay to maintain the alarm condition once it has been triggered by a predetermined increase in pressure.
