1466530 Use of sea water in activated sludge process IDEMITSU KOSAN CO Ltd 24 June 1975 [5 July 1974] 26763/75 Heading C1C An activated sludge process for treating waste water includes the step of mixing sea water with the waste water in an amount not exceeding 3À5 weight per cent of total salt concentration in said waste water. The total salt concentration is preferably 0À3-0À5 weight per cent. The process is particularly applicable to waste water containing oils such as crude oils, volatile oils, naphtha, kerosene, light oils and heavy oils, e.g. from a petroleum refinery.
