Abstract
1466113 Draw bars WEEKS TRAILERS Ltd 28 April 1975 [28 Jan 1974] 03918/74 Heading B7T [Also in Division B8] A trailer having a U-shaped frame 11-13 the side members 12, 13 of which are raisable to lift a load to a transport position has a draw-bar 30 pivoted on a shaft 18 held in bearings 16, 17 of the frame. The trailer wheels 48, 53 are rotatable on trailing links 46, 50 in turn pivotable on shafts 47, 51 mounted between the side members 12, 13 and brackets 24, 25. Upstanding members 19, 20 pivotably support a shaft 23 to which is secured levers 40, 41 and 57, 59 connected by tie bars 38 and 55, 58 respectively to the draw-bar and the trailing links. A double acting piston cylinder 43, 44 is pivotally mounted between a pin 42 of the levers 40, 41 and a pin 37 on plates 34, 35 of the draw-bar so that with the draw-bar attached to a tractor contraction of the piston cylinder 43, 44 rotates the shaft 23 clockwise to lower the members 12, 13 so that they can be placed under engagement parts of a load so that subsequent extension of the piston cylinder will raise the frame 11-13 and the load to a transport position.
