Abstract

1465759 Burners DEUTSCHE BABCOCK & WILCOX AG 4 Sept 1974 [12 Sept 1973] 38590/74 Heading F4T A burner comprises a throat 9, a plurality of swirl plates 12 provided at air inlets 11 a lance 1 axially displaceable along with a primary air chamber 3, and an air guide shield 6 connected thereto; chamber 3 having air outlets 5, and forwardly-facing surfaces 7 which coact with inward surfaces 8 of the throat to form secondary and tertiary air channels 19, 6. Oil can be supplied through lance 1, or the burner may be operated by gas which is fed through a channel 15, and a steam atomizing jet 2 with a Y-shaped exit is provided. The inclination of swirl plates 12 can be adjusted.
