Abstract

1464996 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines DUNHAM-BUSH INC 6 June 1974 [14 Jan 1974] 25231/74 Heading F1F In a refrigerant compressor of the meshing- screw type liquid refrigerant from the condenser C is injected (for cooling and sealing purposes) through a port P in the high-pressure portion of one of the bores accommodating the male and female rotors 20, 21, said port being located at a helical angle from the low-pressure end of the rotor in said bore such that liquid refrigerant flows continuously through the port while the compressor is operating. A slide-valve 46 may be provided to regulate the output.
