Abstract

1464452 Seals SKEGA AB 27 Aug 1974 [28 Aug 1973] 37426/74 Heading F2B In a seal for a piston-rod 2, or cylindrical ridged portion 8 is pressed into engagement with the rod, while a flange portion 9 abuts housing 3. The portions 8 and 9 are integrally formed as an axially divided polyurethane ring 7. In a double-acting seal two rings 7 are pressed inwardly by two rubber 0-rings 13 and located between two polyester support rings 14. When the rings 7 and 14 are both axially split, a projection 18 engages a recess 19, to prevent the splits coming into register. In a single acting seal, one of each kind of ring is used. Two rings 7 may be joined to form a U- shaped ring.
