Abstract

1464221 Sliding caliper disc brakes FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 14 May 1975 20237/75 Heading F2E Removal of one of the pins 22, 52 which constitute the sliding connection between caliper 8 and fixed support 10 permits the caliper to be pivoted about the other pin for removal of the pads 30 which are housed between arms 11, 12 of support 10. The pin 22 serving as the pivot may be of the form shown in Fig. 3, groove 24 co-operating with a grub screw 41, extending through a boss 40 formed on the caliper, to limit axial movement of the caliper. The groove may alternatively be formed in a sleeve around the pin and boss 40 may also have an internal sleeve (Fig. 4, not shown).
